Theory of High Explosives

Explosive Engineering Book.JPG

The "Theory of High Explosives" course is one of the many courses offered in the Explosive Engineering program at Missouri S&T. The course uses Dr. Paul W. Cooper's book "Explosive Engineering" as the primary textbook. This course serves as an introduction to the broad range of explosive theories and applications. Throughout the semester, we briefly cover the study of chemical thermodynamics and hydrodynamic theory to determine the properties of high explosives; application of detonation theory to steady-state detonations in real; application of the above to the blasting action of explosives.

* A condensed version of this course is offered as a short course to industry on an as-requested basis.
